Cold, rain, boots, heavy coats, umbrella and fog. These words are synonymous of Autumn. Beaches, swimming pools, camping, beach towels, sun umbrella, shorts and sandals belong to the past season. No more bikinis or swimming suits. Top selling diet pills are no longer a priority once the bodies are hidden with thick and heavy clothes. Halloween is just a few days ahead and costumes are a priority now as well as candies and sweets.

From time to time I like to take quizzes, sometimes just for fun other times to find something about my personality.

I have a 11 year old son that sometimes messes up with me. His pre-school teacher once says: “Your son is an angel outside and a little devil inside”. This time I decided to take a quiz about his personality and it turned out that my son is “The Hyperkinetic type”.

This is so true! Although he is never been diagnosed with ADHD because, although he is a very active boy and very distracted, he doesn’t match some of the parameters of ADHD.

There are a wide variety of quizzes that can be taken and we can also create our own quizzes especially if we want to gather some information or get an opinion from our readers.

There are quizzes to test software, for instance in school, when a new software is implemented technicians launch a quiz to see the students opinion. Talking about school, there are very useful quizzes like spelling and grammar quizzes.

Well, my husband has been talking about a Slingbox? I had no idea what it was until I read this:

A Slingbox is a high tech device that enables you to take your home television service with you anywhere and watch live TV on a PC Laptop or Desktop Computer. Several models are available including the Slingbox Pro which allows High Definition pictures to be broadcast as well. You can also watch your TV programming on a smartphone such as the Palm Treo, Palm Centro, Blackberry, Windows CE Phones, and soon the Apple iPhone.

The Slingbox works by taking the output of your cable box, satellite box, or DVD player and digitizing the content to be streamed over the internet. Besides owning the Slingbox, you will have to have a fairly good Internet connection with a upstream speed of 256k. The higher the upstream speed, the better the picture quality on the other end. A minimum of 1.5Mb upstream is required for High Definition streaming because of the extra data associated with High Definition picture quality. The SlingBox allows you to control your cable box or satellite receiver remotely, so you can change channels, bring up the guide or even access your DVR or TIVo.

Great if you forget to set up a timer to record an important event. with the growing presence of Wi-Fi is it possible to watch your home programing almost anywhere, even out of the country. Sitting in an airport with a long layover? Use your laptop or iPhone to watch that TV program you missed on your DVR. The Slingbox even provides Stereo Audio and sounds great through headphones or powered PC speakers. I have been using slingbox for 2 years now and I love it! You pay good money for your cable or satellite service, why not take it with you where ever you go!

What a great way to teach out kids how to go green.

The Sesame Street: Being GreenDVD teaches our children the importance of going green. With a mature language that can be more understandable by a four years old than a younger kid, this DVD brings great lessons and music.

We all are aware of the importance of protecting the environment from a young age so who is better than Elmo to help us parents to transmit the message.

Pollution, fumes, harmful industrial products, toxic waste just to name a few, are topics mentioned all over the news and we all have to be aware that we need to protect our home: planet earth. So, let’s teach our children, from a very young age, the importance of going green.

Amy Poehler is well known as actress and comedian and now she hosts an online show called Smart Girls at the Party. She is the co-creator of this online show and counts with Meredith Walker (producer) and Amy Miles (musical director) to bring to us a show with very talented pre-teen girls.

The show is based on an interview where amazing opinions and points of views are expressed by the girls no matter the subject. Most of the time Amy is surprised with the opinions and abilities these young girls show. You will be amazed will the things pre-teen girls can do and say. Some of them have terrific opinions that make us think that sometimes they just need an opportunity to share them.
