soup.jpgWith the holidays just two weeks away be prepared to eat in the parties without stressing about gaining a few ponds. Here are some tips:

Before the party:

  • To prevent you from arriving at the parties starving, before leaving home, eat some nuts and almonds without salt. When you arrive at the party, say that you are really thirsty and ask for a big glass of water with a slice of lemon.

During the party:

  • Start with a huge dose of salad, soup or vegetables. After, taste a little of everything. If they insist with you to eat say I’ll be back in a minute (but don’t come back).

After the party:

  • On the next day, eat light meals of soup of various vegetables, fruit and light fresh cheese.

As I mentioned in my family blog my husband is overweighted. He’s not careful with what he eats and his diet includes cookies, sodas, chocolates, etc. There are several products available he could take like hydroxycut which burns calories and controls appetite, but he’s not very fond of taking pills so he prefers to eat more soup, vegetables and fruits. The problem is when he eats a full package of cookies…
He’s already having high blood pressure and it can be cause by the overweight besides the dangers of stroke and heart attack.

pickles.jpg

Pickles are a very popular way of conserve food, especially vegetables. Its own flavor comes from a process of addiction of vinegar, salt and sugar.

From the nutritional point of view, pickles have a profile similar to fresh vegetables, with the exception of the high amount of sodium (a salt component) and sugar.

Eating salty food is frequently attached to the increase of blood pressure and to a high risk of gastric cancer.

The presence of sugar also gives a higher caloric effect to pickles than fresh vegetables, therefore these type of food must be eaten sporadically.

Yesterday I wrote a post about diabetes and today I just knew about a campaign for a Zero Sugar product. Everyday more and more people search for Zero Sugar products not only due to health issues but also for diet purposes.

The newly released Coke zero offers Real Taste and Zero Sugar. It has an interesting campaign called: Coke zero : Life as it should be, where you can make your own black & white movie and you can even write the lines the actors will say on the movie. It’s really interesting, you can even choose from different scenes.

You can then submit your movie to compete with others and try to get a high rate. Make your own video and drink a Coke Zero, you will enjoy it.
