Each time a birthday party date approaches the rush for the preparation begins. If you intend to buy all the decorations and birthday party invitations it might be easier and less complicated but keep in mind that you can make handmade ones.

There are decorations that can be made by recycling items we might have at home and that are no longer in use. Paper, whether it is from magazines, newspapers or others can also be used to make the invitations cards.

Beautiful and interesting things can be done by recycling or reusing so let’s start doing it instead of buying new.

The Importance of Gas and Electricity Inspections

Posted: July 2011 in Have a Better Life

Whether you’re a landlord, a tenant, or a homeowner, gas and electricity inspections are an essential part of living in the UK. Landlords, due to their relationship with the tenant, come under the strictest legal requirements, but even homeowners should consider the safety of their gas and electricity both for their own sake and for their neighbours and visitors.

Legal requirements

As a landlord, there are explicit legal requirements that necessitate checks to confirm the safe running of gas and electrical appliances in your household. Gas and electricity fall under separate laws: the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 stipulate unambiguously that all gas appliances must be tested at least once every 12 months. Electrical goods fall under both The Consumer Protection Act 1987 and The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, specifies that the landlord – as a provider of electrical goods to the tenant – has a responsibility to ensure that they are safe to use.

It could save your life

Carbon monoxide is the product of gas appliances when they burn gas incompletely, and it is highly poisonous as well as being tasteless and having no smell. It can and does kill but can be avoided in almost all cases by ensuring that gas installations are of the necessary standard, any work required on gas appliances in the home is carried out by an authorised engineer, and that gas inspections are carried out regularly. A carbon monoxide alarm in homes that use gas can be a sensible precaution but should not be considered a replacement for a high standard of gas maintenance.

How often is it necessary for electrical inspections?

Unlike gas, the law is ambiguous with regards to the frequency required for electrical tests even though it does flag electrical safety as a landlord’s responsibility. It is probably advisable to do so annually, the same as with gas appliances. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) provide some useful guidelines, many of which are focused on the responsibilities of business owners but that can also apply to landlords.

Selling a property

If you intend to sell or even let your property, up-to-date gas and electricity checks are a reassuring selling point for potential buyers or tenants. Even if they do not ask to see a certificate, it can be an encouraging gesture if this information is voluntarily offered to them.

7 Reasons Why Laugher is the “Best Medicine”

19
Tech tipsComputer Tricks

1. Endorphins: Laughing releases endorphins, and if you don’t know what those are – you ought to. Endorphins are a “feel good” chemical which are found in the brain and released from certain stimuli. These stimuli can be natural, such as sex, or unnatural, such as drugs. Laughing is a natural stimulus which releases this feel good chemical throughout our blood stream. This not only improves our health; but it also relaxes us, de-tenses the muscles, and soothes any pain being experienced.

2. Social Implications: Knowing when and how to laugh can boost your social status and improve relationships. Laughing can lighten the mood and alleviate a serious, tense social atmosphere. Cracking a joke, followed by laughter is a common practice to alleviate social awkwardness and is commonly called “Breaking the Ice.”

3. Immune Systems: Laughing boosts our body’s natural production of anti-body producing cells. This leads to a healthier body and an avoidance of diseases and illnesses. So the more you laugh the less likely you are to catch the flu!

4. Heart: Laughing improves our heart’s condition. If you frequently laugh it can lower your risk of blood-related disease, and aid in avoiding common heart diseases. So get out your favorite comedian and begin laughing away the heart troubles!

5. Exercise: If you are not one to hit the gym often you’re in luck – laughing has been proven to be as good as; if not better than exercising regularly. 100 hardy laughs can be equivalent to 10 minutes in a workout facility. If you’ve ever laughed so hard that your abdominal region and your lungs begin to hurt; you know the kind of work out that you can receive from a laughter outbreak!

6. Depression: Laughter is the number one cure for depression. If you can constantly surround your life with joy and the endorphins that are released by laughter – you will live a happy and depression-free life. You will have a sense of fulfillment and will be a lot less likely to worry about small problems that may occur from time to time. Although the big events in life are inevitable and will undoubtedly still take their toll they will at least be more manageable if you can laugh every once in a while.

7. Stress: This goes hand in hand with the depression article. Laughter has been known to be the number one cure for stress; just as it is for depression. If you are stressed out about your boss or job. Perhaps there are social issues or whatever may be bringing on stress to your body – laughing is your answer to remove that stress! Since it is a safe and easy method to release those badly needed endorphins, laughing is a must. Just head on over to your town’s local comedy club and take that well earned break you’ve desired for such a long time.

If you cannot get yourself to laugh, try new methods. Perhaps you lack a sense of humor, and yes that is a serious possibility. Remember that laughing is vital to anyone and all must have some kind of laughter to live a healthy lifestyle. So enjoy yourself, and laugh for hours on end!

Timothy Frisch, a student at the University of Wisconsin – Stout, has used laughter to get himself through the hardest of situations.
