A suitably procedure of a dietetic treatment linked with proper exercise and other measures for promoting elimination is the exclusive scientific method of dealing with obesity.

The major factor in this treatment should be the balanced election of foods which supply the maximum required nutrients with the least number of calories.

To begin with, the patient should initiate a juice fast for seven to ten days. Lemon juices, grape fruit, orange, pineapple and celery, may be taken during this phase. Prolonged juice fast up to 40 days can also be undertaken, but only under professional supervision and control.

As an option, short juice fasts should be repeated at periodic intervals of two months or so until the appropriate decrease in weight is achieved.

After the juice fast, the person should spend a furthermore four or five days on an all – fruit diet, having three meals of fresh juicy fruits such as oranges, grapefruit, pineapple and papaya. Thereafter, he may gradually go for a low calorie well balanced diet of three basic food groups, namely: seeds, nuts and grains, vegetables and fruits, with priority on raw fruits, vegetables and fresh juices.

The foods which should be remarkably reduced or totally avoided are high fat foods such as butter, cheese, chocolates, cream, ice cream, fat meats, fried foods, and gravies; high carbohydrate foods like bread, candy, cake, cookies, cereal products, legumes, potatoes, honey, sugar, syrup and rich puddings beverages such as all fountain and alcoholic drinks.

Of course some people prefer to go through the expensive but easier way to get rid of weigh and they go to a Cosmetic Surgery Clinic to be “fixed”. Of course this type of clinic can help the person improve several parts of the body in the same surgery making it worth the money spent. It can also be useful to remove scar imperfections. Overall the use of a clinic is an easy way to have a great body without going through weight loss diets.

Of course not everyone can afford cosmetic surgery so most of the time a strict diet plan must be followed to accomplish the goal of losing weight.

In the 21st Century there is a lot of hype surrounding protecting the environment. Not only is being eco-friendly beneficial for the environment, going green is beneficial to your wallet. Even the simplest changes in your home can make a huge difference for the world and your wallet. Follow these five simple steps for a great way to start your eco-friendly lifestyle:

Lighting Around Your Home
Take a look around your home at your lighting, swapping old bulbs for more efficient options. There are a number of eco-friendly options available that use up to 75% less energy than conventional bulbs and have a lifespan that is 10 times longer. Although such bulbs cost more upfront, the overall savings that can be made are worth shelling out for.

Heating Your Home
Heating is a major outlay when it comes to energy expenditure. By adjusting your thermostat just two degrees can make a huge difference. If you wear appropriate seasonal clothing, the few degrees change in temperature will go unnoticed. Monitoring your heating is an easy and fast way to help reduce your energy costs each month, helping the environment at the same time.

Using Your Washing Machine
Your washing machine is responsible for around 10% of the overall energy usage in your home. If possible, choose to use cold water cycles as this helps to keep the cost down. Avoid several small loads and choose one day a week when you can wash a dark load and another day when you wash all your lights. If you’re looking to purchase new machines this year, try and purchase machines that have a top load.

Unplug Items That Are Not Being Used
A simple and effective way to save energy is to unplug items that are not being used. Look around your home for small items that are sitting idle such as computers or mobile phone chargers that are not constantly being used. You will soon realise how much of difference unplugging these items will have on your monthly electricity bill.

Cheap Electricity Suppliers
Some cheap electricity suppliers have a number of eco-friendly initiatives that come as part of their green energy packages. These include providing energy efficient ways of giving you your gas or electricity, renewable energy sources and offering insulation for your home.

Environmentally Friendly printed folders

Today I went to the mall and I was happy to find many eco-friendly products available. I have the habit of checking if a certain product has the ecologic sign and most products already have. Now, are they really eco-friendly or are the harmful products not mentioned on the label?

There was this lady from a promotional products company that was giving away their catalog and she was telling people that the products were eco-friendly. When I had already the catalog on my hand I asked her: “How do I know if your products are really eco-friendly?” Her answer was: “You have to trust us.”

I left the mall and I kept thinking about it. It’s true, we really have to trust the labels and the manufacture.

Some people muddle Exercise with Being Active.

If you are doing your daily chores like gardening,  washing the car, cleaning the house then you are not exercising but being active.

  • Exercise request physical effort and usually has a purpose of acquiring joint flexibility, muscle tone and maintenance in general.
  • Activity is more a normal thing to do. It is part of our daily life and we usually are active when accomplishing a task.

So, if you think that you are exercising when you are cleaning the living room, you are wrong because you are only active. If the doctor or nutritionist says you need to exercise don’t tell him you do chores everyday or that you do dog training twice a week. Exercise means physical exercise and you should should follow an exercise program.

Who can spend the day without drinking coffee?

Cup of coffee.

Are you one of those people that after getting up the next thing they want to do is drinking coffee? Welcome to the club then.

It was eighteen months ago that my coffee machine broke up and I had to deal with the no coffee idea. It was hard, still is so from time to time, after dropping the kids at school I stop in a coffee shop to drink a coffee. Other times I make instant coffee at home which by the way causes me a lot of internal problems.

Sometimes I think I could live without coffee but when an headache strikes, I need my coffee. I use coffee as a migraine headache treatment. Before taking any pain killers I always try coffee and most of the times it makes the trick. Why? Because caffeine make the brain veins to open and allow the blood to flow more easily. This was the explanation given to me when my son had migraines. I was told I could give him a small quantity of coffee to make the migraine go away.

Can you imagine your day without coffee? Does coffee do any good to your headaches?

Eco-Friendly Unusual Gifts

Tech tipsComputer Tricks

Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings and Baby Showers have one thing in common: a gift is involved. An when it comes to gifts I have a huge problem, I want to find an unusual gift at a lower price and this is difficult to achieved.

  • Small home decor objects are gifts I don’t give anymore. Everybody has them and it will be one just to put in a shelf together with dozens of others.
  • Books are precious but most of the time people spend the day working or on the computer and they don’t read real books.
  • Clothes are always needed but they can be an expensive gift. If we buy a cheap piece of clothing probably the person won’t use it because it looks cheap and of low quality. Known brands are too expensive for me.

So, nothing better than shopping at The Travelling Souk. Here you can find unusual products from a wide range of prices depending on how much you want to spend. Being a “Go Green” person I love the “Eco Souk” section. All the products are eco-friendly, organic, recycled and green. On the Eco Souk section you Adult Socks Bluebellcan find:

  • wooden toys
  • organic cotton soft toys
  • organic soaps and candles
  • beautiful socks made of recycled cotton
  • and much more

I like to offer unusual gifts because usually people don’t have them and they attract the gift’s receiver attention. An unusual gift also has a different value, both in quality and quantity. People can’t figure out how much it cost because they usually don’t look for that type of products. So you get compliments for the gift even if it was cheap. The unusual makes the difference.

Another important thing is that besides the unusual products, The Travelling Souk websites donates at least 2.6% of its annual sales to Breast Cancer Haven.

I hope this article can bring you some awareness of how unusual gifts can make a difference as well as the importance to raise founds to the different causes there are. The Eco-Friendly aspect of the products are also an important feature to take into consideration.

Reusing Simple Items into Useful Products

Lately I have been reusing some “trash”. No, I don’t mean “trash” but what we usually put in the eco-bin.

»» For instance: I have a yogurt maker machine with seven glasses. I can only make seven yogurts at a time and to make more yogurts I have to wait until we eat the last one to have seven containers again. Well, that was before I started using baby fruit containers.

My daughter, although six years old, loves baby fruit, the one we buy at the grocery store. The containers are a little smaller than than the original ones of the machine, but this way I’m able to make eight yogurts and I will have fifteen yogurts in the fridge. This way I reuse glass instead of putting it away. Of course I can’t reuse all the containers we buy, some have to go to the glass eco-container to be recycled.

»» The baby fruit containers can also be used to can jam or even used as home decoration. I gather ideas from online sites like Also Home that offer us creative items to decorate our home. For instance using glasses to put candles, use decoupage technique to make beautiful and unique items. Of course that busy moms like myself prefer to buy everything ready and Also Home is a temptation because they have high quality products at low prices.

»» Another things I’m reusing are cereal boxes. We have several box sizes because we buy normal cereals of different sizes (normal, family size), cereal bars, etc. Some boxes I use to put erasers, sharpeners, scissors, glue, etc. I usually cut the carton to the shape I want. I use smaller boxes to put hair pins and other small hair accessories, and I have a box only for combs and brushes.

»» Sausage glass containers usually are reused to put pens and coloring pencils.

»» Old clothes, those already damaged that can’t be used by us or someone else, I cut them in pieces and put them on the cleaning cabinet. We use them to clean the car, to clean the dust, to clean the bathroom, etc..

I’m always looking for an excuse to reuse something. The curious thing is when a friend, specially the little ones, come to my house and say: Look, this is a cereal box, but there are erasers inside it. :) Too funny.

Leave some reusing ideas on the comments area, I will be glad to check them out.
