Now that I gained weight and although I’m with my right weight cellulite is making its appearance on my legs. This proves that not only overweighted people have cellulite, it also happens on the skinny ones.

Just before Summer season the search for treatments and cellulite cures
increases because everyone wants to cause a good impression on their bikinis.

But What Is Cellulite?

Cellulite is a term used to describe the dimpled appearance of skin caused by fat deposits that are just below the surface of the skin. It generally appears on skin in the abdomen, lower limbs, and pelvic region, and it usually occurs after puberty. Cellulite is also known as adiposis edematosa, dermopanniculosis deformans, status protrusus cutis, and gynoid lipodystrophy in the medical field and as orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, hail damage, and the mattress phenomenon in colloquial language.

What causes cellulite?

The causes of cellulite are not well understood, but there are several theories that have been put forth as explanations. Among these are:

  • Hormonal factors
  • Genetics
  • Diet
  • Lifestyle factors
  • Clothing

How can cellulite be prevented?

Eating healthy, low fat foods such as fruits, vegetables, and fiber can help one to avoid cellulite. Similarly exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, and reducing stress are recommended to prevent cellulite. In addition wearing thongs, boyshorts, or looser fitting undergarments can prevent cellulite that might form due to tight elastic.

I’m not really worried about cellulite; in fact, I’m enjoying the body I have now. I have a more shaped body and I can gain a few pounds more. For now, I’m not going to worry about cellulite and I’m going to enjoy my body.

  1. This is quite an interesting subject. I have some cellulite and also some extra weight. I wonder, if I lose weight, will the cellulite go away or get worse?

  2. My opinion is that for a healthy life you need to be active, this includes sports. So may daily routine includes Pilates. I’m very pleased to see that I’m more fit now and i really can’t see any cellulite sign. So for me Pilates works best!

My friends also told me that scrubs (made from sea salt) can help tor educe cellulite, and also alternative cold – hot showers.
