Two lemons, one whole and one sliced in half

I read somewhere, I can’t find the page, that lemon juice can be use to disguise the dark circles around our eyes.

Lemon is rich in Vitamin C and I know it’s great to our immune system and as a body cleanser. I’m also aware that it can be used around the house as a natural cleaning product because it is great to fight bacterias and germs but I don’t know if it can be used directly on our face skin.

I really don’t know if this is accurate and I would like to hear from you on this. Have you ever used lemon juice to clean your skin?

A Facial mask.

Yesterday there was a live presentation of beauty products on a hypermarket nearby. Besides the offer of several samples, there was a detailed explanation of the use of beauty creams.

  • For pre-teens and teens the lady explained how acne can be treated and prevented. How to do use a acne facial wash as well how to apply the anti acne cream.
  • For 20 plus she explained what type of creams we should use depending on the type of skin, how to clean our face, how to use the make-up remover, the tonic and the moisturized.
  • She described what are expression wrinkles and age wrinkles, how we can use the anti wrinkle creams around our eyes and lips.
  • A big warn: our neck is the extension of our face so we also have to take care of our neck. (I always forget the neck. :) )

Well, I must say it was an interesting session, not a sale pitch and it was free.

Exercise while Playing

Blue disco quad roller skates

We all know that exercise is an activity that brings many benefits to our health. Although I don’t go to the gym, gymnastic classes or do any kind of exercise at home, instead I prefer to join my kids on some of their favorite activities.

I sometimes I forget that I’m 41 and I feel like a young girl. My kids go to roller skating classes and I also roller skate with them. In fact, the teacher is the one that in every class encourage me to go and skate with them. I’m the only grown-up, besides the teacher, to skate with the kids and although I have joint pain and muscle pain when I leave the class, I really relieve some stress and at the same time I do some exercise.

Other days we just walk around the neighborhood, visit someone or go for a cup of coffee but always on foot or bike. I feel like I’m exercising, at least I reach the end of the day exhausted.

What about you? Do you exercise in the gym? What do you do to practice exercise?

Money Saving Tips: Beg, Beg and Beg

Coins

Beg, Beg and Beg for lower prices has been my technique lately, and today I got some “fruits”.

This morning I went to my insurance company office and I told them I had a better price and I needed them to lower my life insurance price. After quite a few excuses that I already had a good price, that I had an excellent plan, etc. etc. , I kept telling the lady that I was jobless, two kids, finances were really tough, she decided to talk to her boss in the main office. She asked for my mobile number and said she was going to call me later with the verdict.

Before I left the office she asked me if my parents have a life insurance because they have affordable life insurance for seniors and that I could tell them to ask for a quote. It’s amazing how these people are always trying to sell other insurance plans, but that’s fine, it’s their job.

Well, I went home and 1 hour later I received a call saying that they could reduce me the price in €53 (+/- $71) annually. Better than nothing. I’m going to sign the papers this afternoon.

If you want a lower price don’t be ashamed to beg and beg. They are the ones that rob us. Sometimes they can make lower prices but they don’t tell the costumers.

Procrastination and How to Stop It Now

procrastination

To fully understand the term procrastination, you need to do two things: understand its basic definition and find out why people procrastinate. You can, of course, put it to a stop by using time management techniques to completely beat it out.

We always hear a lot of people making excuses for not being able to accomplish anything. These are the people who simply and easily give reasons so as to make the inability to do something a valid one. When deadlines arrive, you see them panicking. Worst, ending up as depressed as they can be for not being able to achieve a specified goal or task. It’s not too late, though. If you happen to fall into procrastination, you have the power to change now. Here’s what procrastination is all about and how to overcome it.

Basic Definition

Procrastination is the tendency to hamper the accomplishment of a specific goal by delaying or postponing the performance of a task at a later time.

Why people procrastinate

People oftentimes get into the trap of procrastination because it becomes a means in dealing with emotional and physical symptoms that come along with depression. It may become a sort of relief but it’s just a temporary one. There are various procrastination styles. See which among these styles fits you:

  • difficulty in organizing your thoughts and your actions too. Difficulty in being on track with a certain plan.
  • tasks seemed extremely great that it becomes worthless for you to just simply try.
  • negative emotions towards somebody may cause you to put things off as a means of punishing him.
  • afraid of being disfavored.
  • routines prompted you to become rebellious.

The procrastination styles mentioned earlier would possibly overlap in one of the following themes:

  • self-doubt
  • discomfort dodging
  • driven by guilt
  • habitual

When you have fully distinguished yourself from any of those procrastination styles, you should decide to get rid of it in your system by incorporating these time management techniques:

  • make a list – initially you have to list everything you need to do. That is in no particular order yet.
  • prioritize the items on your list – arrange the items on your list by deadlines. Or you can also arrange them by order of how important they are to you.
  • use a calendar – come up with a calendar with spaces for you to write your notes. You can have separate sheets for long-term plans and separate pages for short-term goals too.
  • accomplish the ones at the top of the list – take the item on top of your priority list and decide how long you can finish that specific goal.
  • fill your calendar as you meet deadlines – as you meet each deadline, make sure to fill your calendar with new tasks to do. Just make sure that you don’t overbook yourself which might eventually cause delays.
