My Home Theater

How many devices do you have connected every day in your home? I’m sure you have many. Imagine the energy they consume and the energy you waste during the night when some of them are not in use.

There are some devices we can’t disconnect: the fridge and the freezer are two of them. But there are some devices we leave in stand by that can be disconnected like the DVD, the Samsung HDTV, the DVR, the home theater system, etc.. These devices although spend just a few energy while in stand-by, we can save some money if we disconnect them from the plug every night.

I know it takes some work, especially if you have many devices around the house but at the end of the month is worth the effort.

Greenpeace Checks Can Raise Awareness and Support Greenpeace Organization

Do you support Greenpeace? Would you like to carry personal checks that not only reflect your feelings toward the organization, but also support it? When you purchase Greenpeace personal checks, some of the proceeds go toward helping guard and protect lakes, rivers, and land from toxic waste, as well as protect the animals and marine life that live in these areas.

An environmental organization that has offices in 45 countries, Greenpeace’s headquarters is in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The goal of the organization is to “ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity.” Greenpeace utilizes research, action, and lobbying to attempt to reach this goal.

They do not accept any money from political parties or governments since it is not a government organization. Instead, the organization must depend upon on foundation grants and individual supporters such as yourself. Since they rely so heavily on individual supporters, it is even more important the organization has people like you to help spread awareness of its mission and goals.

At the present time, Greenpeace centers on issues such as deforestation, global warming, nuclear power, and overfishing. Greenpeace has aided in increasing public awareness when it comes to environmental problems and concerns.

According to its website, the organization also helps promote peace and conserve the environment by encouraging socially and ecologically responsible farming, creating a global network of marine reserves, encouraging a safer alternative to hazardous chemicals in manufacturing, working for disarmament, and protecting the world’s ancient forests.

When you purchase Greenpeace checks, some of the profits go toward protecting endangered species and threatened marine mammals. The checks will also help increase awareness of this popular and important organization. Every time you write a check, the recipient will know that you support the organization.

There is an assortment of different Greenpeace check designs to select from. The “Let Oceans Live” checks contain the image of a dolphin in the background of a pastel sunset. On the other hand, the Greenpeace Original Logo checks are simpler and feature the Greenpeace logo set against a light gray background. The Greenpeace Warrior checks include a picture of a body of water with a boat coming out of the waves. There are also other checks designs to select from, too.

Don’t forget that if you purchase your checks online from a reputable site you can save as much as 50% off the overall cost of your checks. Ordering your checks online is easy, plus you will have a wider assortment of checks to select from.

When you buy your checks online, remember to have your routing number and checking account number on hand. These will be printed right onto the checks themselves. You should expect to receive your checks in about 5 days, which could be earlier than you got them from your bank before.

I am Thinking About Coloring My Hair

As I mentioned on my facial skin care post I’m not getting younger and there are some visual signs of aging that I can’t prevent. White hair is one. Now that I care more about beauty, I decided to take care of my hair. No I am not going to pull out my white hair, I’m thinking about coloring it.

I had my first white hair at the age of 29, now, 11 years later I have many white hair. If in the beginning it was funny for me to have a white hair, now it’s not that funny because they are located in my fringe so we can see them quite well.

I would like to have my hair colored by a hairdresser but it is very expensive so I bought one of those we find in the supermarket. There are very well known brands available so I just had to choose the hair color I want and do it myself at home. I already have the hair color box at home for a week but I keep postponing the application. Although the color is very similar to my natural color some people say that the product reacts differently depending on the hair type. So, let’s say that I am a little scared with the final result.

The product box brings all the necessary hair accessories for the application of the product as well as an allergic test that must be done 48 hours before applying the product all over the hair. I bought a hair color product that only lasts for 6 to 8 weeks therefore,  if I don’t like the final result, I know it will not last for a long time. Of course I chose a green product without any toxic ingredients.

Stay tuned for the before and after photos.

Childhood Obesity Epidemic

23
Tech tipsComputer Tricks

Yesterday it was my daughter’s birthday and as she was at school I brought a cake to school along with juice bottles for all the pre-school kids (65 kids). The cake was big enough for everyone and even some of the kids took a second slice. One of my daughters classmate is obese and she wanted to repeat the dose over and over again, but the teacher didn’t allow her. This made me think that it must be very frustrating for a 6 years old to control her/his appetite.

Children obesity is increasing dramatically and although the grown ups try to resolve the problem with diet pills, fat burners, quick trim fast cleanse reviews and other similar treatments the truth is: kids must have a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent obesity.

Here is a CBS YouTube video about the Childhood Obesity Epidemic that is spreading really fast.

We have to make sure our kids eat healthy meals and do exercise. Long walks or riding bicycle on the weekend is a great help. Keep your family healthy and promote a better life for them.
