Our life online, safe or not safe

I have a friend that lost some part of his life. How? Well his computer literally burned out, in flames. An unsafe electrical connection to the PC was the reason of the accident. Now, he didn’t matter with the lost of the computer but he was really destroyed with the loss of important data information. Years of files and…most important… years of family photos that had never been backup.

I feel really sorry for my friend and I must say I learned a great lesson. I’ve already burned DVD’s with all the photos I have on my computer as well as important files. Right now I’m searching for a good online site where I can store photos, documents, where I can have an online backup of my computer in case something goes wrong with my PC.

I think that to have a better life sometimes we have to rely our own stuff to others and not only on our own stuff. Online storage seems to be safe and can offer us a backup of our own life data. But is it safe?

What do you think? Do you keep your documents and photos online?

I’m sorry for your friend’s loss. Losing your PC is a pretty big set back. I don’t necessarily store my photos online, but I do have access to Facebook wherein many photos are posted. I guess I could grab those pics if my computer crashes.
