The Sesame Street: Being GreenDVD teaches our children the importance of going green. With a mature language that can be more understandable by a four years old than a younger kid, this DVD brings great lessons and music.

We all are aware of the importance of protecting the environment from a young age so who is better than Elmo to help us parents to transmit the message.

Pollution, fumes, harmful industrial products, toxic waste just to name a few, are topics mentioned all over the news and we all have to be aware that we need to protect our home: planet earth. So, let’s teach our children, from a very young age, the importance of going green.

Credit Card Interest:
If you have credit cards and your credit is in good standing, call your credit card company, and ask for your interest rate to be lowered. It is truly that simple. Unfortunately, most people do not even realize this is an option so they never make the call. Just tell the representative that you want a better rate on your credit card and they will take care of your request.

Patience:
Be patient when it comes to saving. This means that you need to accept that it will take time to save and good planning. Be patient and remember that just because you want something, do not rush to buy just to satisfy your urge. Instead, wait for sales in order to get the best price, which in turn will save you money.

Who doesn’t love chocolate but avoid to eat it because is afraid of gaining a few pounds? I brought this recipe here today thinking about them.

This recipe is low fat, each serving has only 36 calories and it is delicious.

CRANBERRY FUDGE

Ingredients:cranberry-fudge

  • 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 cup reduced-fat evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (6 ounces) dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Line a 9-in. square pan with foil. Coat the foil with cooking spray; set aside.
In a heavy saucepan, combine chocolate chips and corn syrup. Cook and stir over low heat until melted. Remove from the heat.

Stir in the confectioners’ sugar, milk and vanilla. Beat with a wooden spoon until thickened and glossy, about 5 minutes. Stir in cranberries and walnuts. Spread into prepared pan; refrigerate until firm.

Using foil, lift fudge out of pan; discard foil. Cut fudge into 1-in. squares. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Yield: 1-1/3 pounds (81 pieces).

I received this recipe on my mailing box from Taste of Home. I hope you enjoy it.
