Thank You for the post. Now a day, it is really necessary to save money but do not sacrifice the things we enjoy so we need to work in a budget. Nice and useful post.

That last line “Total deprivation leads to overindulgence.” is very true and I often find myself going from one extreme to the other, especially with my money.

In San Diego we have water restrictions that are making it harder to maintain lawns and gardens. I’ve never been much of a landscaper anyway, so we put artificial grass in our back yard. It is an up-front investment, but without all the time that I used to spend cutting and edging the grass, I find that I truly do live better! The fake grass looks very realistic too. Always green, and no weeds.

I really enjoy your blog. I liked the ideas you gave with the lawnmower and the allowance as well. I agree that one should buy or do something you enjoy!!
