Easter is just two weeks away and my son is already on school holiday. Usually he has holiday one week before Easter and one week after but once this year Easter is a little late school closes two weeks before. Pre-schools will close only the week before Easter so my daughter still has school for one more week.

When they don’t have school they stay in daycare. Fortunately the daycare where my kids are has a lot of activities and the schedule is already done for school holidays. Next week my son will go to the movies and watch Hotel for Dogs and my daughter will watch Caroline.

We have full time jobs so we had to choose a great place for my kids to stay after school and on holidays.

Choosing a daycare is a difficult task therefore the decision must be made taking into consideration several factors.

  • Facilities: Does the daycare have approved by Social Security facilities?
  • Employees: Does the daycare have the required employees for the number of children it has?
  • Meals: Does the daycare provide meals? Do they have healthy meals?
  • Children: Does the number of children exceeds the maximum allowed number?
  • Certification: What companies certified the daycare as a quality one?
  • Opinion: Gather several opinions of mothers/fathers with kids in the daycare.
  • Activities: Does the daycare provide extra activities?
  • Trust: Do you trust the daycare director and employees?

Daycare is a place we should trust to take good care of our children. We also should be aware that our kids have the right to give their opinion. So if you have your kids in daycare ask them frequently if they like the employees and colleagues, what activities they have, etc.. A good environment is a excellent factor to raise happy kids.

  1. Another thing that I think you need to know if the toys on the day care are safe for kids to play. With the different controversies, you should be aware of it.

  2. Our 4 year old daughter is in a wonderful daycare environment at one of the local churches. She’s been there for almost two years. When my wife and sister n law were looking for daycare facilities prior to finding this one, they couldn’t believe how easy it was to walk into some of these day care places without anyone really noticing them…Pretty scary!
    Security is also so important.
Thank you for posting this. In this day and age, we really have to protect our little ones.
