Back pain and physiotherapy again

Yesterday I had my physiotherapist appointment and the suspicious of my doctor was correct, I already have an hernia forming on my cervical column.

There isn’t too much to do, I’m taking painkillers, muscle relaxants and doing physiotherapy again, 15 sessions. A injection of muscle relaxant is absorbed through the skin during the physiotherapy section.

I’m really tired of all this pain specially because I can’t avoid getting it once I work at the computer and posture is something I even forget to check when I’m working. I wish I could get some high performance parts that would help me out while I’m working.

Swimming is getting a stronger second opinion from my side since it is the only sport that canl reduce my pain.

I know how you feel. I have been dealing with a herniated disc for the last 20 years.

I have learned that you can’t cure it, but you can manage it quite effectively.

I too sit in front of a computer much of every day, as I run an online business.

What you need to do is to find some exercises that strengthen both the muscles in the abdomen and the muscles in your back.

By strengthening these muscles, you will be placing less stress on the spine itself.

When I keep up with these exercises, I can do almost anything with no back problems. However if I stop doing these exercises, it doesn’t take long for the disc to pop out again.

The good news is that exercise is good for you in general. The bad news is that you will always need to be exercising if you want to keep the pain away.

Japald, thank you so much for your comment. I really need to start doing some exercises because I spend most of my day on a desk and I don’t intend to change jobs. I know this will never go away and the only thing I can do is exercise to easy the pain.
