I live in a country where Green consciousness is taken a long time to happen. Although some campaigns have been taking place I guess only the present generation that is still at school will grow up having the idea that Go Green will help us to keep our world a better place to live in.

I recycle my daily garbage at home and I’m always looking for ways to protect the environment. From now I will be gathering information on the web regarding what we can do to preserve the environment and at the same time have a better life. I will post some of the information on this blog as well as products we can buy that are totally green and save for us and the environment.

There are some basis steps we can take to start being more greener right now:

Recycle really is the frugal point:
Garbage at home can be totally recycled, bottles, milk packs, cans, paper, plastic bottle lids, etc. etc.. Some stores accept used CD’s and DVD’s that will be properly recycled, as well as cell phones, computers, batteries, house appliances, etc. Most stores will accept your old gadget when you buy a new one.

Re-Using:
Every time I go to the grocery shop all the products come in plastic bags. Usually I don’t put them in the garbage but instead I keep for future use like when I want to take something to my mother, to the office, etc.

Electricity:
This one is something I plan to do very soon, change normal light bulbs by energy saver ones. Besides helping the environment I can save some money on my electricity bill.

Water:
We only use a full water bath when the kids want to play a little in the water, but that it’s like once a month. We always shower to spend less water. Again it saves the environment and save us from getting a higher water bill.

Organic food, organic body products, organic clothes, recycled paper, organic cleaning products, these are all measures we can take to help the environment. Unfortunately most organic products are very expensive and people still prefer to buy regular products. Let’s see if people awareness and concern about the environment speaks louder than money!!

  1. You can indeed save serious money AND do a lot to help out the climate and environment by the simple expedient of switching to “low energy” lighting – more so than many people probably realize. But be aware that not all energy saving bulbs are equal. Follow the post link or check out my recent guest article at Focus Organic before making the switch (who would have thought that light bulbs could be such a minefield?).
