Child Obesity: children can also exercise at home

Some advises to get the kids “moving” inside the house:

  • Play with rubber jumping balls, balloons, ping pong rackets, that don’t cause damage.
  • Home scale Bowling kits
  • While they are little, between 2 and 4 years old, let them jump on top of the bed mattress (if they have no breathing problems)
  • Pillow fight (if they have no breathing problems)
  • Portable Hopscotch game
  • A lot of creativity!

These are some examples of how children waste their energy even being at home. Nevertheless they do not substitute the outdoors physical activities or sport practice.

    When we worked at the daycare we had our kids run in circles and made a game out of it, they loved it, and all they were doing was running in circles.
