Usually people say that cheap watches can damage the skin or even make you an allergy and therefore a rash. Well, that might be true, but that depends on the skin sensitivity. If you have a very sensitive skin even luxury watches can make you a rash.

If you are looking for a watch, ask first the type of material it is made of and if the watch was submitted to some sort of treatment with products that can produce allergy. Of course there is always the danger of buying a good watch and still have allergy problems.

In case of rash, reddish skin, itchy skin just remove the watch and contact a doctor.

  1. It is interesting how different people are in relation to skin reactions. I myself have no issues with any type of jewelry however, my friend who is just as pale as I am can’t seem to wear anything except for ear rings without breaking out into hives. She even broke out with an expensive Rolex one time. I can wear the cheapest knock off in the world and nothing. Unfortunately, I can’t afford anything but the cheapest knock off so that is my dilema.

  2. If you have skin problems with a wristwatch, you can always try a pocket watch. But unless you’re a watch collector, these days a cell phone will give you the accurate time.

  3. I never knew that watches can cause skin problems. I feel this happens to people who have sensitive skin. Using a cell phone is a nice option to check time as elgin watches has mentioned.
