The domain of this blog is hosted for free on Blogger, but not for too long. In a few days the transference of this domain to Bluehost.com will be completed and I have a lot of work to do. I’m going to change the platform to WordPress so, in order for the blog to have a short downtime I have to work fast. I already changed my www.usefulstuffblog.com to WP, added a few plugins and I tried it to get some knowledge of the new platform.I don’t know if there is an easier way to do it but here is what I intend to do:

  • Install WordPress with Fantastico
  • Install some themes and choose the right one (I already have one in mind)
  • Install some Plugins
  • Copy all the codes in the sidebars
  • Build the Blogroll (I guess I have to insert the links one by one)
  • other details will be added later

I hope to do this very quickly, so if the blog is down it will be only for a couple of hours.

  1. Why the change to WordPress? I have a blogger blog (free) and will probably leave it there, although wordpress does seem to have better site structure.

  2. I do Paid Posts and I have more chances to get work with a paid domain and host. blogspot blogs are excluded most of the time.
Also WordPress Platform is great because of all the plugins you can use. So far so good!
