Summer is almost over but some people are still on vacation. It’s very common for people to go on vacation on the first two weeks of September because it’s cheaper and not so crowded as August. Some people just go camping or do as some family members of mine and buy a big RV. Of course it’s a big investment but the RV can be used along the year, everywhere, no check in or check out in Hotels and you can change the location according to your preferences. You can stay a couple days in one place, a couple of days somewhere else, etc..
Camping is also a cheap option but at this time of the year with the uncertain weather is a bit risky, you might get wet.

Of course you don’t have the comfort of a soft bed in a comfortable room you would have on a Kissimmee vacation resort, but what matters is that people have a great vacation one way or another and have a better life.

My husband was recently diagnosed with GOUT (metabolic arthritis). It is a diseased caused by high levels of uric acid in the blood stream. Crystals are formed and deposit themselves in the cartilage joints, tendons and involving tissue. This causes inflammatory reaction, pain and some of the crystals can even come out through the skin. Here is the diet prescribed to my husband and that should be followed by all Gout patients:

You can eat:

  • Cow, chicken, lamb, duck
  • Green vegetables, carrots and tomatoes
  • Apples, pears, bananas, oranges, peaches, melon, watermelon, figs
  • Raise, pasta, bread, potato, eggs, olive, fresh cheese, yogurts
  • Water, fresh tea, low fat milk, sodas, white wine

You should avoid:

  • Pork, hare, partridge, heifer, ham, pig
  • Liver, pate (made from liver), or sweetbreads (thymus)
  • Seafood
  • Alcoholic beverages, particularly beer
  • Bacon
  • Pineapple, cherries, lemon

Keep your weight under control and exercise.
