My daughter had a severe conjunctivitis this last days as I wrote on my family blog. Although a highly contagious disease, no one in the house got really sick, I just had a few itching in my eyes but no need for treatment.

Here is some information regarding conjunctivitis:

Infection symptoms:

  • Lacrimal eyes
  • Red eyes
  • Eyelids “glued” specially in the morning
  • Sensibility to the light
  • Seems that we have sand grains inside the eyes
  • Itchy
  • Watery discharge
  • Foggy vision

Avoid contagion:

  • Wash the hands frequently
  • Avoid touching the eyes
  • Do not share towels
  • Don’t use other people cosmetics
  • Don’t share eye medication
  • Don’t use contact lenses during the conjunctivitis
  • Protect the eyes from water with chlorine
