My daughter had a severe conjunctivitis this last days as I wrote on my family blog. Although a highly contagious disease, no one in the house got really sick, I just had a few itching in my eyes but no need for treatment.
Here is some information regarding conjunctivitis:

Lacrimal eyes
Red eyes
Eyelids “glued” specially in the morning
Sensibility to the light
Seems that we have sand grains inside the eyes
Itchy
Watery discharge
Foggy vision

Avoid contagion:

Wash the hands frequently
Avoid touching the eyes
Do not share towels
