Plastic and cosmetic surgery

For some people, having a better life means improving themselves physically and that sometimes means going under plastic surgery.

Plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery is getting very popular nowadays. People want to change the way they look, they want to lift their self-esteem and they do it through bisturi. However, if you are thinking about going through plastic or cosmetic surgery, you should read first detailed information to know how the procedure is going to be.

Plastic Surgery 101 is a good site for you to search for information. This site is based on information that a Beverly Hills surgeon gathered from his experience. Los Angeles plastic surgery is becoming more popular every day and many patients search for its famous surgeons. Patients must be aware of the small and big details of all the procedures.

At Plastic Surgery 101 you have information on almost every procedure like: facelift, browlift, breast augmentation, liposuction among others. You click on the link of the procedure you are interested in and you have detailed information about it. Beverly Hills rhinoplasty is one of the procedures also mentioned on this site. Honestly, we all know some people age quicker than others and it’s apparent in their skin, especially their faces. Botox is the most common cosmetic surgery performed each year, and you can be out of the doctor’s office in less than 15 minutes. I’m the type of person who has to see something to believe it, and the pictures online are incredible. You can get Botox not only in your face, but on the back of your hands as well. I know what I’ll be doing in about 30 years!

You are absolutely right about making sure the consumer is informed…a wise cosmetic surgery candidate will always conduct thorough research before proceeding with any surgical procedure.

There are many sites on the internet that offer Plastic Surgery information. First and foremost, make sure you know who is providing this information. Many of them, although they are helpful, are subscription based and will simply refer you to physicians who are paying to advertise on their site. An excellent source of information is provided by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (www.plasticsurgery.org) and also supplies a listing of all Board Certified Plastic Surgeons in North America. Remember, it is much easier to get it done right the first time…

As for the comment on BOTOX Cosmetic, while many physicians (such as myself) are using fillers to plump up the hands and restore volume BOTOX Cosmetic is not being used. This injectable works by decreasing muscular activity and ultimately then reducing overlying wrinkles and is not currently being injected in the hands.

It’s vital that you get your info from a trusted source, as Gregory said above. I recommend checking out sites that have some kind of accreditation, like approval from HonCode or something like that. These are trusted sites that many companies rely on for reliable information.

Also, if you’re considering undergoing a procedure, you should know the bad stuff as well as the good. We all know the positive effects of something like breast augmentation, but did you know that it can also leave scarring, numbness and capsular contracture? That may prevent some people from getting it done, but remember: an experienced and well educated physician will reduce the risk of these things occurring.
