This beautiful Ivy used to cover one small area of my garden wall.

It was beautiful, green, growing everyday. We thought about keeping it and cover part of the wall, but we were warned that it could case a lot of damage to the wall. Therefore my husband just cut it and the result was the picture on the right. The ink come out and the roots of the Ivy were already breaking the wall and several pieces of concrete come out. Now we have a ugly wall needing painting.

So be aware for Ivy, they can be really beautiful but it can seriously harm your walls.

  2. We have some ivy growing on our house, too. I cut a lot of it down last fall. We have brick, so you can’t really see the damage, but it could really do a lot of harm.

  4. Hey, thanks for posting this. I really need to warn one of my neighbors now. They have ivy growing on their walls. I find them really pretty, but now that I know that they could damage my neighbor’s property, I’m not that keen on them anymore.
